The Opportunity:
Family owned & operated since 1948, Bayview Flowers is a live plant grower, broker, and distributor that services supermarkets and big box retailers across North America. We are currently looking for a Key Account Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing sales with their accounts through building relationships and influencing program buy-in.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Key Account Manager will lead the account development and strategy for assigned customers or regions. They should be skilled at building and maintaining relationships with clients and work to provide exceptional customer service to clients.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain strong long-term and solid relationships with key sales accounts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all client interactions and inquiries.
- Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to clients in a timely manner.
- Communicate and collaborate with marketing, sales and logistics departments to meet key client needs.
- Develop a thorough understanding of key clients’ needs and requirements and prepare customized solutions.
- Work within a team to build programs with clients.
- Negotiate contracts with key clients and meet established deadlines to fulfill each client’s long-term goals.
Requirements
- University Degree or College Diploma preferred but not required.
- 1-3 years of sales experience.
- Experience in the floral industry would be an asset.
- Positive attitude, exceptional interpersonal communication skills (oral/written), and ability to quickly build rapport and negotiate.
- Understanding and passion for house plants/flowers would be considered an asset.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Ability to make decisions and work with minimal supervision.
- Job can/will require travel into the US/CAN depending on the customer base.
- Understanding of sales performance metrics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Dynamics Nav
