DONOR RELATIONS ASSOCIATE  – Temporary Contract Position

TIME COMMITMENT: Full Time, 37.5 hours weekly

DURATION: Temporary Contract (Maternity Leave – 12 month)

COMPENSATION: $45,500 – $47,000 (based on hourly wage)

LOCATION: Office located in Grimsby, Ontario; Remote/Hybrid Work options

START DATE: Immediately

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager of Development, the Donor Relations Associate  – Temporary Contract (Maternity Leave) will play a primary role in the ministry’s telephone strategy as part of our Donor Cultivation framework. This includes contacting identified donors for the purpose of engaging and cultivating their relationship with BLC. In pursuit of service excellence, the incumbent will ensure that every person contacted feels appreciated and that their support is valued and is producing results. The incumbent should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and interacting with donors effectively and diplomatically.

Specific responsibilities within the above areas include:

Current Donor Caseload Calls:

o   Through the “Ask, Thank, Report” Model, cultivate a minimum caseload of 300 donors on a regular basis as part of our donor cultivation strategy with a primary focus on upgrading donors.  This includes but is not limited to phone calls, e-mail and other written correspondence.

o   Understand all current donor events, appeals and outreach activities and leverage these opportunities when speaking with donors.

o   Be active in developing and considering new and creative means of relationship building for the purpose of increased ministry.

o   Accurately input all activities in Salesforce database.

Thank You Calls: 

o   Thank all non-caseload donors by phone within 24-48 hours of gifts received.

o   Provide written correspondence as needed.

Support:

o   Provide back up for team members as needed and assigned.

*Additional responsibilities may be added in consultation with and at the discretion of your manager.

Education:

·        High School diploma required; some College level courses appropriate to the position or equivalent experience is a definite asset.

·        Sales and relational customer service training are a definite asset.

Experience Needed:

·        1 year of experience and a proven track record in donor cultivation, customer service and/or sales is an asset.

·        Telecommunication experience is a definite asset.

·        Experience in a not-for-profit organization is an asset.

Qualifications:

•        Proficient in MS Office (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook).

•        Experience with Salesforce (customer service management) & Asana (project management) software is an asset.

•        Proficient in Internet research and search engine skills.

•        Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

•        Ability to “think on one’s feet” and deal with challenging conversations.

•        Exceptional attention to detail.

•        Organizational and time management skills.

•        Ability to spend extended periods communicating via telephone.

Required Commitment:
