Position: Business Marketing Developer (Co-op)

Company: Christians Against Poverty Canada.          

Location: #301, 286 Sanford Ave N, Hamilton, ON – the role will by hybrid.

Term: January – August 2025 co-op term

Christians Against Poverty Canada equips churches with financial education and credit counselling tools; ensuring they can support vulnerable Canadians to move towards financial health and demonstrating the love of God to everyone we serve.

We are seeking a motivated, creative and passionate Business Marketing Developer to engage in an immersive experience with us and develop strategies to target specific customers and markets.

As the Business Marketing Developer, you will play a crucial role in our Development Team as we seek to engage effectively and clearly with our three marketing segments; churches, supporters and clients.

Reporting directly to our Branding, Marketing and Communications Lead, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with, and learn from, the program delivery teams – so you are fully exposed to the service CAP offers.
  • Understand and detail the social and demographic trends for each vertical in our Consumer Marketing (churches, supporters and clients).
  • Identify and record the needs, both highlighted and inferred, for each segment of our Consumer Marketing.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to create a compelling and clear marketing strategy for each vertical.
  • Recommend events, conferences and opportunities (tech/relationships/products) for market targeting by speaking into our annual strategy and budget sessions. 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with a focus on Marketing or a related field.
  • Specialization in either online media, videography or photography would be a significant asset.
  • Experience using Asana would be beneficial.

  • Wants to engage with financially vulnerable Canadians who are feeling overwhelmed by their life circumstances.
  • Has a good support circle in your personal life (faith and friendships) and keeps healthy boundaries outside of the office (rest and relationships).
  • Can switch between Donuts and Danish #ThursdayOfficeTreatRotation
  • Is happy working in a smaller team, CAP currently has 7 employees. 

Timeline:

Jan 2025:

Co-op start and onboarding process.

Feb – April 2025:

60-80% immersed in project delivery.

20-40% research implications for company verticals.

May – August 2025:

20-40% engagement in project delivery.

60-80% developing strategy for company verticals.
