Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement Specialist 

CityKidz is looking for an enthusiastic Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement Specialist to join our Volunteer Development team. If you are passionate about community building and have experience in recruitment and volunteer management, this full-time role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and volunteers.

Position Overview:

The  Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement Specialist, plays a crucial role in attracting, training, and supporting our volunteers. This position supports a positive volunteer experience, from recruitment and orientation to scheduling and recognition, making CityKidz a welcoming place for all volunteers.

 

Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment (25%)Develop and implement strategies to attract new volunteers.
Attend community events and collaborate with local organizations for recruitment.
Create and post volunteer listings on various platforms.
Volunteer Training & Orientation (25%)Design and facilitate information sessions and training for new and existing volunteers.
Organize training sessions to communicate CityKidz values, policies, and roles.
Hosting and Onboarding New Volunteers (20%)Support new volunteers during Saturday programs, ensuring they feel comfortable and engaged.
Pair new volunteers with experienced mentors for their initial shifts.
Volunteer Scheduling & Support (20%)Assist with scheduling volunteers for programs and events.
Collaborate with team leads to ensure adequate coverage and fill in gaps.
Volunteer Recognition & Engagement Initiatives (10%)Partner with the Volunteer Development Coordinator to implement volunteer appreciation efforts.
Collect volunteer feedback to enhance their experience.
 

Qualifications and Demonstrated Skills:

1 year experience in recruitment, training, or volunteer management.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to engage and inspire volunteers with enthusiasm.
Strong organizational skills for managing schedules and onboarding.
Flexible to work Saturdays and attend occasional community events.
Know the values and working culture of CityKidz.
Comfortable working in a faith-based organization.
Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn and use advanced technological applications.
Excellent organization, task, and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Strong problem solving, training, and personal management skills. Must have initiative and the ability to follow through with little direct supervision.
Ability to work collaboratively with teams, staff, and volunteers.
Strong passion for the mission of CityKidz.
Valid G Class driver’s license and access to transportation.
