CSC occupational therapists are involved in a wide range of tasks for individuals with mental health
and/or physical health issues, including:
Comprehensive assessments: identifying factors affecting the functioning of the whole person.
Individual interventions: using a collaborative relationship focused approach in the
development of intervention plans that keep the client and their occupations at the centre of
practice.
Group interventions: delivering health related group interventions, such as chronic pain
management, emotion regulation, social skills, stress management, community preparedness,
independent living skills, etc.
Education: providing education to clients and staff on factors impacting occupational
participation and advocating for access to meaningful occupational possibilities.
Community capacity building: developing partnerships within the community to coordinate
services, identify and address gaps in services and advocate for resources.
