Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to inspire dynamic worship, lead the youth ministries and young adult ministries, with a strong focus on leadership development, discipleship, faith development, and volunteer mentorship. This will be done by providing relational leadership

Key Objectives & Success Indicators:

Youth Engagement: Successfully lead and grow youth and young adult groups, evidenced by consistent participation and visible growth in the spiritual maturity of participants.
Worship Participation: Inspire and facilitate vibrant worship, with measurable success in volunteer retention and the regular integration of new, trained musicians and leaders into the worship team.
Leadership Development: Implement and track a clear plan for the recruitment, mentorship, and eventual succession of lay leaders for both youth programs and the worship ministry.
Pastoral Care: Provide accessible and empathetic pastoral care and spiritual direction for youth and their families.

Required Qualifications

Professing Christian, aligned with the church’s theological framework.
Experience as a youth worker/leader in a Christian Church setting.
Experienced worship musician/leader in a Christian Church setting.
Ability to plan activities, programs, and worship, as well as effectively lead others.
Familiarity with digital media platforms (e.g., social media, livestreaming) for ministry communication and outreach.
Able to provide a clean vulnerable sector check and police check

Assets / Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Christian or Religious Education from an accredited Institution, or current enrollment in a recognized seminary program (e.g., Calvin Theological Seminary programs).
Reporting Relationship & Work Schedule

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Council, takes direction from, and works with the Lead Pastor to accomplish ministry goals.
Attends Council meetings as required.
Work Schedule / Office Hours: This is a full-time position. While flexibility is inherent in ministry, a commitment to predictable in-office hours is expected to ensure accessibility to staff, volunteers, and congregants. Specific office hours are negotiable with the Council during the hiring process.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

The Director shall be responsible for:

Ministry Programing: Plan and develop ministry programming for worship and church activities for youth and young adults, ensuring they align with the church’s mission and vision.
Leadership Development & Succession:
Promote, encourage, and actively implement a strategy for leadership development and succession planning across all youth and worship teams.
Implement regular mentorship and training sessions for all volunteers, especially on the worship team, to build their skills and confidence.
Recruitment and vetting of volunteers with a love for Christ
Volunteer Support: Work with the leaders of existing and new programs (e.g., GEMS, Cadets, Sunday School) to ensure they have the necessary support, encouragement, and resources.
Group Leadership: Lead youth and young adult groups while also participating in other youth programs within the community such as Youth for Christ.
Pastoral Care: Provide initial pastoral care and spiritual direction for youth and young adults, and their families, with appropriate referrals to the Lead Pastor or Council as needed.  Mentor and care for the spiritual needs of the youth who are away or who no longer attend services.
Worship Ministry:
Assist in leading and planning worship, working with the Lead Pastor and Worship Committee in an innovating capacity.
Work with the Praise Team in an organizing, resourcing, and mentorship capacity.
Maintain the church’s digital presence related to youth and worship (e.g., social media communication, coordinating livestreaming efforts).
