Our services include emergency food and clothing; daily hot meals; emergency shelters for men, youth, families, women and children; transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. How You Will Make an Impact

This role will provide personal care and home support services to clients living independently in the community, including in persons living in Good Shepherd residential programs.

Provide care to Seniors in our community
Work independently and collaboratively within the care team
Deliver care in a person-centered way that considers the resident’s personal and cultural needs/preferences
Responsible for participating in Good Shepherd’s Health and Safety programs, procedures, procedures and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd

What You’ll Bring to Our Team

PSW certificate, in good standing from an approved and recognized institution
Current CPR and First Aid certificate is required
Availability to work weekends and other shifts as scheduled
Able to work independently and also as part of a team
Demonstrated flexibility in availability and assigned duties
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to work with persons experiencing mental health and additions issues and support a harm reduction approach to care
Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset
Committed to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice and to the mission and values of Good Shepherd
Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety practices and understanding of an employee’s responsibility under current legislation
