The Hamilton Suzuki School of Music is currently seeking passionate, qualified teachers to join our communityof nearly 100 music students.
Student ages range from pre-school, with our Early childhood music education sessions, through high-school
age and adult lessons. We are specifically looking for cello instructors to fill an immediate need, however we arealso eager to hear from those who specialize in violin, viola, piano, and flute.
A little about our school: The Hamilton Suzuki School of Music (HSSM), formerly the Hamilton Philharmonic Children Inc., began in 1967 as a centennial project of the Women’s Committee of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra. It became known as The HSSM in 1979/1980. The goal of The Hamilton Suzuki School of Music is to promote the musical education of children and to nurture their musical growth as they mature, specifically through the Suzuki method.
The HSSM is a registered charity and not-for-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors comprised of elected teachers, parents, and interested community members.
At the heart of our school are the teachers; together, we strive to develop children’s natural love of music and to nurture musical talents in a rewarding, supportive, and vibrant environment.
What to expect as a teacher with The HSSM:
Teaching at our school provides a wonderful opportunity to share your talents and qualifications with students of all ages and backgrounds. You will be joining a skilled team of music educators who are committed to fostering and inspiring a love of music.
We offer group classes to all students, included with our private lesson fees, and additional opportunities for
students to join orchestras and small ensembles. Lessons, groups and orchestras are exciting and fulfilling
teaching opportunities.
