Friendship Manager – fulltime (37.5 hrs/week), salary TBD

·       Committed, active Christian – loves God, loves people

·       Lives in Hamilton, knows and loves the city well

·       Has a good knowledge of local service providers

·       Has a good knowledge of local Christian charities whose work overlaps with Helping Hands Street Mission’s

·       Understands & can move forward Helping Hands mission, vision and values

·       Works well in a team

·       Highly organized

·       Has the ability to self-direct and work independently

·       Is able to put themselves under another’s direction for a common purpose

·       Can work well with systems such as Sharepoint, Teams, databases, Microsoft ….

·       Confidence to train, manage and empower volunteers

·       Confident engaging with diverse people, engages diverse people with respect

·       Ability to work a flexible/non-traditional schedule (schedule includes Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons)

Main responsibilities:

·       Building up network of support services for the benefit of community members

o   Engaging with community resources

o   Maintaining database of community resources

o   Supporting volunteers in their awareness of community resources

o   Inviting network engagement on-site

·       Frontline volunteer & student coordination

o   Recruitment

o   Training

o   Mentoring & Support

o   Scheduling

o   Special needs support management for low-barrier volunteerism

·       Frontline management and support

o   Crisis management, de-escalation

o   Incident protocol and reporting

o   Safety management

·       Programs & projects

o   Program/project development

o   Leadership and supervision

o   Evaluation

·       Impact tracking/story collection

Assets: First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, de-escalation/crisis intervention training and social service/work certification and/or experience are considered valuable assets.
