This is a position best suited to someone with both social service skills as well as not-for-profit/charity administration and communication skills.

JOB TITLE: Fundraising/Donor Manager and Project Hope Lead

DATE: Applications accepted until position is filled – preference is to fill the position by January 1, 2023

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

SALARY/HOURS: 12 month contract to start; hourly/salary TBD, starting wage based on $40,000 annual fulltime salary; must be available Mondays 10-noon (staff meetings), Saturdays 1am-6am (Project Hope night time hours), other majority day time hours, with times & amount of hours negotiable.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As Fundraising/Donor Manager (F/DM), you will provide leadership and administrative support for Fundraising Events and Donor Management. The F/DM will take the lead on Helping Hands Street Mission fundraisers and on maintaining our donor base. As Project Hope Lead (PHL), you will provide leadership, coordination and be the primary staff presence for Project Hope, Helping Hands Street Mission’s ministry to women who are involved in the sex industry in Barton Village. Through Project Hope you will provide friendship-based support to these women with regards to daily living concerns, walk alongside them with regards to community support and resource access, and provide opportunity for them to grow in their understanding of God’s unconditional love for them through spiritual support, prayer, and encouragement. The PHL will demonstrate compassion and discernment while working with individuals in difficult life situations in a respectful and non-judgmental manner. The PHL will guide and mentor volunteers and students involved fundraising/donor connection work and Project Hope outreach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

1.   Fundraising/Donor Management

a.      To lead and coordinate the management of Fundraising Events (at this time: Coldest Night of the Year and the annual Gala).

b.      To support volunteers involved in Fundraising Events.

c.      To provide all administrative functions required for the Fundraising Events.

d.      To assist with other giving opportunities (Giving Tuesday, end of year donation invitation, etc.).

e.      To assist in developing an annual donor management plan.

f.       To maintain the Helping Hands Street Mission donor base – administration: organization of databases, communication (e-newsletters, regular email communication, phone calls, social media), tax receipts, organizing donor engagement opportunities/events.

g.      To manage and analyze donation and impact tracking data.

h.      To train and support students and volunteers assisting in fundraising and donor management.

2.   Project Hope Lead

a.      To lead and advance Project Hope as a Christian ministry of Helping Hands Street Mission in Barton Village.

b.      To lead in providing a safe place for those presenting as female (“women”) who are looking for safety at night (at this time Saturday 1am-6am).

c.      To initiate and grow relationships with women in the Barton community and particularly are dealing with issues related to sex work/involvement in the sex industry.

d.      To build and maintain these relationships.

e.      To develop relationships and partnerships with other social services for the benefit of those accessing Project Hope.

f.       To advocate for increased access to community services for those dealing with homelessness and other situations of social, financial and spiritual poverty.

g.      To train and support students and volunteers assisting in service and outreach opportunities.

3.   Supporting the rest of the Organization

a.      Be an active participant in team meetings, etc.

b.      Complete various reports as requested by the Executive Director in a timely manner.

c.      Provide assistance, as requested, at various significant organizational events.

d.      Continue to grow through professional development opportunities.

e.      Provide back up front line support in other areas where possible if needed.

f.       Complete other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS – Love God, and love people. Education and experience in social service work, as well as experience in administration and not-for-profit/charity work are assets.

ACCOUNTABILITY – The F/DM and PHL reports to the Executive Director.

EXPECTATIONS – Police Record Check; Certification in CPR/First Aid; Naloxone training; Mental Health First Aid (these trainings may be taken during first weeks of employment).
