Marketing Intern

Location: Charlotte, NC
Hours: 28 hours a week for 10 weeks
Salary: $18/hour
Reports to: Vice President of Marketing

THE ROLE
The Good Book Company seeks to publish excellent books and resources for individuals
and churches, which are biblical, accessible and relevant. The Marketing team promotes
them creatively and effectively so that they reach the widest possible audience.
The Marketing Intern will offer support to members of the marketing team in order to
advance the promotion of new and upcoming releases. In the process, the marketing
intern will have the opportunity to learn about the entire publishing process and meet
with members of other departments to learn more about the publishing industry. By the
end of the internship, the intern will have gained practical experience in areas such as
social media marketing, email marketing, project management, blog post building, and
participating in collaborative meetings.

ROLE MAY INCLUDE
• Building blog posts
• Writing a few blog posts
• Building landing pages
• Updating the homepage
• Creating Amazon A+ pages
• Completing facelift projects on our Amazon storefront
• Completing administrative projects such as organizing digital folders,
refreshing our photography list, updating outdated blogs, etc.
• Writing, posting, and interacting on social media
• Briefing, building, and scheduling promotional emails
• Completing one project campaign independently
• Offering support to other members of the marketing team as needed
• Travel to one Christian event to support marketing efforts

Which of these responsibilities are assigned to the intern will depend on the intern’s
background and skillset as well as the needs of the team at the time. The specific day-today tasks of the intern will be determined by the VP of Marketing throughout the internship.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required
• Interest in Christian publishing
• Considering pursuing or actively pursuing a related degree such as a degree in
marketing, communications, or professional writing
• Highly computer-literate
• Excellent use of written and spoken English
• Capable of meeting deadlines
• Organized, proactive, inquisitive, and personable
• Team player with a desire to learn, improve, and support others
• Familiarity with evangelical Christian culture, terminology, and trends
