BFM Foundation (Canada) is a national organization with over 50 Mission Thrift Stores across Canada. The net revenue from all the Mission Thrift Stores is devoted to the Joint Ministry of BFM Foundation (Canada) and Bible League Canada. These funds are used to establish adult literacy programs, provide church planter training, children’s ministry programs, and distribute Bibles in many places around the world. The store is operated primarily by dedicated volunteers.

Mission Thrift Store Ponoka is currently seeking a Full Time Support Staff who understands and supports the vision and purpose of BFM Foundation (Canada).

Receiver will report directly to the Receiving Supervisor and General Manager – Ponoka.

Responsibilities and Objectives of Position:

  • Creating an exceptional customer shopping/donation experience.
  • Creating a cooperative, rewarding work experience for volunteers and staff.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the receiving and processing of donations to departments.
  • Organization of receiving area, including a large amount of front-line work accepting donations.

Spokesperson for Ponoka Mission Thrift Store Core Values and Mission Statement.

Qualifications:

  • Receiver must reflect Christ in his/her behavior and be vibrant, passionate, having an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Comfortable in helping leading prayer at the beginning of each day or afternoon when asked.
  • Experience in working with volunteers a plus
  • Understand or have inventory control, customer service, and delegation and motivation understanding.
  • Lifting items over 50lbs. lift furniture, carry and bend, and standing long days.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Professionalism and respect
  • Displays a high level of trustworthiness and integrity
  • Have good conflict resolution skills
  • Handle issues and information with discretion and appropriate confidentiality

Experience: Labour and warehouse experience in a retail setting; experience with non-profit/voluntary sector, would be considered an asset.

Working Conditions: The Receiver will be working in a labour position in the warehouse; both indoors and outdoors, with Saturdays as availability to schedule.

Salary Expectations: Full time 37.5 hours/week. After 3 months completion (probationary period), will be offering benefits plan with a health spending account.
