DESCRIPTION
The Associate Pastor of Next Generation has a passionate approach toward discipleship, and the spiritual growth of children and youth. Working in collaboration with the Mount Hamilton Baptist Church ministry team, the Associate Pastor of Next Generation ensures the needs of children and youth, and the importance of their discipleship remains central at MHBC. It is the responsibility of the Associate Pastor of Next Generation to oversee children and youth programs, facilitate opportunities for teaching, fellowship, and outreach for children and youth, and provide pastoral care, support and training to children, youth, and their families.
OVERVIEW OF CHURCH
Mount Hamilton Baptist Church is a family-oriented congregation with deep roots in the community. We are located on the Hamilton Mountain and we are made up of a wide variety of ages, histories, ethnic backgrounds, and church experiences. Our motto is: “Come just as you are,” in hopes to encourage people to feel welcome wherever they find themselves in life or faith.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with children and youth ministries
- Relevant degree, Master of Divinity or Master of Theological Studies preferred; however, other qualifications and training will be considered
- Strong foundational understanding of the Bible as it relates to developing Christian maturity in children and youth
- Devoted and growing Christian with a passion to disciple our next generation
- Verifiable references and up-to-date Police Check
- Proficiency with various technology and social media platforms
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Minister to the church body as a supportive member of the pastoral team
- Provide oversight and implementation of children and youth programs
- Create and lead missional opportunities in our community for our children and youth
- Create ways for youth to connect to Mount Hamilton Baptist Church
- Disciple our next generation
- Provide support and training for families in order to help build faith at home
- Attend and participate in church events and programs
- Provide pastoral care to children, youth and families
