Jaden Vis

Good evening, 

I am a third year student enrolled at Redeemer University for a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Social Work, Psychology, and English. I intend on applying to a MSW program toward the completion of my degree.

I have devoted the past six-eight years of my life to volunteering in the human service field. I have always had an extravagant passion for helping people. I endured incredible maltreatment as a child, and I knew for as long as I can remember that it is my calling to be a ‘change-maker’. I remember falling deeply in love with helping vulnerable/ marginalized individuals at a transitional home for women and children who were fleeting abuse (Drummond House). I volunteered at the Drummond House as an in-house support member. I’ve also volunteered at local food drives, a club for individuals with disabilities to gather (Friendship), as a host for community outreach programs (HOPE centre), and I have worked as a Child Support worker at a summer camp (Todays Family). 

I am currently looking for additional work experience in the field of human services. I am extremely mature for my age, and I aspire to bring what I have learned through both my education and practical experience into practice. I would love to gain more practical experience and skills that I can bring into my graduate degree with me. 

My availability would be as follows:

Monday/ Wednesday: Anytime-2pm, or 5pm onwards

Tuesday/Thursday: 4pm onwards

Friday: Anytime-1pm, or 6pm onwards

Saturday/ Sunday: Anytime
